Shapella August 1st!

The Shapella hard-fork is upon us ~  August 1st, 2023 at Epoch: 648704 / Slot: 10379264 / 11:34:20 UTC! This major milestone marks a significant step forward in the evolution of Gnosis Chain. Most notably, Shapella enables withdrawals for staked GNO.

Node runners, please schedule time now to update your nodes if you haven't already - it’s critical for ensuring the security of Gnosis Chain and a successful hard-fork! The process can be completed within a few clicks. The Shapella hard-fork only requires node runners to update their Consensus and Execution Layer clients.

Last week, we hosted the monthly Validator Meetup. Gnosis Chain core devs joined us to address questions about Shapella and necessary preparations for node runners. Check out the recording if you missed the call.

🌉 Scheduled Bridge Downtime ~ We will have scheduled bridge downtime. Both OmniBridge and xDAI bridges will be paused before the fork and will resume operation after the hard-fork is completed.

🌉 Hashi 橋 Testnet

The Goerli > Gnosis Chain Hashi Testnet is live! Hashi is a framework for bridge aggregation that prioritizes security. In this first deployment 4 different bridges, including the cutting edge zk-light clients, need to validate a Goerli block header independently before it is accepted on Gnosis. Check out the thread below to learn more!

The Sygma team also published a blog post to announce their support of Gnosis in the implementation of Hashi! Sygma's cross-chain infrastructure, paired with Gnosis's robust Ethereum-based tools, will contribute to an efficient Hashi implementation, enhancing the interconnectedness of the entire blockchain ecosystem.

✅ Agnostic Relay Enabling Optimistic Relaying

The Agnostic Relay team announced this week that bonded optimistic relaying will be enabled soon. The opt-in feature accepts collateral amounts of up to 1 ETH from builders in order to enable optimistic validation for their blocks using the MEV-Boost-Relay. The integration will increase relay performance for both block proposers and builders.

🥷🏽 Stealth Safe ETHGlobal Hackathon Winner

Stealth Safe is a proof-of-concept enabling Stealth Addresses for Safe multisigs. Facilitating privacy-preserved transactions; pivotal for AA users. No fund traceability. Stealth Safe won best Safe project at the ETH Global Paris hackathon this year! The hackathon had over 1,400 eager hackers and more than 300 great projects. Over 70 projects were deployed on Gnosis Chain successfully!
